DELEGATES Lifting & Slinging training courses are aimed at personnel who use Cranes - Slings and other types of Lifting Equipment as part of their everyday duties. Delegates should be resonable fit, resonably articulate and be a minimum age of 18 years.

The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Reg 1998 (PUWER)
The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regs 1998 (LOLER)
Inspection of Lifting Equipment - Slings - Shackles - Eyebolts
Slining Techniques - Types of Slinging - Hitches - Safety Factors
Classroom & Practical Demonstrations and Exercises
Theory & Practical Tests


AIMS &
OBJECTIVES
On completion of the course, each delegate will have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and will be fully conversant in the Safe & Proper Use of Lifting Equipment.


CERTIFICATION On Satisfactory completion, each delegate will receive a personal Certificate of Training.


NPORS
REGISTRATION
Successful delegates will also be eligible and have the option for registration with the NPORS; I.D. CARD


DURATION One - Three Days (Subject to Course)


DAILY TIMETABLE
9.00am - 4.00pm Lunch 30 mins Breaks 2 x 15 mins


NUMBERS Maximum: Ten Delegates per day (Subject to Course)


VENUES Any suitable venue with the use of Lift Equipment (i.e. Overhead Crane or Gantry) plus basic facilities (i.e. Office - Canteen)


Lifting & Slinging Course Information

Training & Testing of delegates conducted in accordance with the Codes of Practice published by THE LIFTING EQUIPMENT ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION and LOLER & PUWER 98 and the guidelines and recommendations of both the HSE and NPORS.

LEVEL ONE
1 Day
Aimed at basic Novices with little or no knowledge of slinging, covers Basic Slinging Techniques & Signalling.


LEVEL TWO
1 Day
Aimed at Experienced slingers covers more advanced Slining Techniques including Turning of Loads.


SLINGER -
BANKSMAN

1 Day
Mainly aimed at persons who work with mobile cranes, however; it is easily adapted to suit any lifting operation i.e. Overhead Crane Operations


APPIONTED PERSON
3 Days
Aimed at persons with some knowledge of slinging techniques and who will be involved in the planning and controlling of Lifting Operations. Includes: Management of Lifting Operations - BS7121 - LOLER - PUWER - Risk Assessments and Method Statements.


OVERHEAD CRANES
1 - 5 Days
All types of Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes (EOTC), PEndent Controlled - Remote Controlled - Cab Controlled. Includes: basic slining & signalling techniques.

Duration Subject to Crane Type & Operator Experience.


LIFTING EQUIPMENT
INSPECTION

3 Days
Aimed at persons responsible for Storing - Issuing - Acquiring and Inspecting Lifting Equipment. As per PUWER-98 and LOLER-98. COvers:- Chain Slings - Wire & Firbe Slings - Shackles - Eyebolts - Chain Blocks - Pul-Lifts - Plate Clamps - Lifting Beams etc.


TEMPORARY
LIFTING POINTS

1 Day
Aimed at Riggers who are required to Test & certify a Temporary Load Lifting Point from Scaffold Ladder Beams or Structural Steel.
